The near-fatal accident happened at Narsan in Haridwar district, about 90km from Dehradun. The vehicle went up in flames moments later and was reduced to a mangled, simmering heap. Pant managed to escape after breaking the windscreen. Results of an MRI of the brain andspinal cord were 'normal'.
